ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I was born in Hawaii but raised in East Texas. I now live in Dallas, Texas with my wife, two children, and one extremely old mutt. When not writing, I meddle in my wife’s architecture business, draw cartoons coach my son elementary school chess team, and play more tennis than I really ought to.
My first novel, The Do-Nothing, is based on German bildungsromanen, novels of self-discovery and formation. In 2011,
thismanuscript was a finalist in the Unified Literary Contest, a quarter-finalist for the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award, and a finalist in the Writers League of Texas manuscript contest, the largest such contest in the state. In the same year, a fellowship from Summer Literary Seminars gave me the opportunity to workshop The Do-Nothing manuscript with Louis Sachar.
The support I received in writing and publishing my first novel propelled me to writes ever al additional books. It is also what inspired me to begin my own publishing company, Rabbit Boy Books. The goal of RBB is to help other writers share their stories and realize their dream of publishing rich adventure stories
